Mass Effect 2 FTW???

Check this out for a taste http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K0GfpxRfUs0 This game looks sweet.  Available to us on January 26th, this has the potential to be a kick ass game.  For those boys at ING.com that had the chance to play through the 1st level of the new game they pointed out some noticeable improvements from the 1st.    The game is better, obviously, or they hopefully would not have taken the time to put together another one.  The combat style is redone, or ramped up, even the in game tutorial shows you quickly how to take cover, the power wheel, equipping and managing weapons and giving commands to squad mates.  Those that have played through the original will not feel out of their comfort zone, and noobies (me included) will be quickly brought up to speed.  But then again this is a standard in any game, to lessen the learning curve of combat, speech, equipment ect, to get to the nitty gritty : )
A few new features are it now auto-regenerating health system, heavy weapons as well as new skills to each class.  And the hacking games (I hated in Fallout 3) have been redone; one requires you to remember which wire goes where, a memory game.  I personally don’t really care for this type of thing in games, some ppl love it though.  But I really can’t say if it would be frustrating during game play or not, not until I am able to play the game.   Shepard (main character) has got himself a new ship as well.  This has all the potential to rock.  Something negative, they noticed that the way loading is handled leave something to be desired, but wtf, nothing is ever perfect with any game, right?  Anyway this game looks sweet and I will defiantly get my hands on this bad boy.

This game indeed looks to be abundant with asskickery, Im currently playing through the first one again to get more done and have a more complete experience when I transfer my save game file to the second game. One thing that makes me super happy is they have two development teams making the 360 version and the PC version rather than make it port like they did the first, granted it was a decent port which is hard to come by (i.e. turning point, rise of the argonauts, etc.) but a fresh coded specifically for PC Mass Effect holds enormous ammounts of promise I think. 😀 Got my preorder and cant wait 😀

I am good friends with the Lead sound engineer for Mass effect 2, also he did Dragon Age. Anyway, good man, good man love talking to him and seeing pictures from the office. Now that I gloated into your face and showed you that I feel like I am better than you.. Just kidding i’m a strange guy. I have to say that this next installment from the “sound” side, is blowing my socks off. This is one game I will never Download, as I know who get’s paid on this one. it’s ok when I don’t know the people behind the magic!
